For International Friendship Day on 30th July, we have arranged for a rock painting arts and crafts day at Ipswich County Library with the aim of raising money for Age UK Suffolk.
The event will be held between 10am and 3pm inviting people of all ages to paint a friendship rock in exchange for a small donation.
We take great pride in making sure our carers are not only high-trained in the specific health and welfare needs of our clients, but also providing company and conversation to those who might otherwise be alone.
Hundreds of thousands of elderly people are lonely and cut off from society in this country, especially those over the age of 75. In general, older people are vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation – and it can have a serious effect on their health.
Our aim with this event is to bring people together to do something engaging, fun and interactive as well as raising awareness of Age UK - helping support their work in combating loneliness among the elderly.
The rock painting event is free and participants can keep their own masterpiece at the end. All donations to Age UK will be gratefully accepted.
